| Did you have fun at the Back-to-School Party last month? You say you missed it? Oh well, maybe next time.
A number of Children of Copacabana did attend. We want to thank our own Nicki Ross, Judi and those volunteers who helped their kids enjoy food, games, school supplies for everyone, a raffle for new back packs...all sponsored by SPARC, our resident services entity. None of your rent dollars were spent on this party. We hope to see even more kids next year. More Copa Comments... • That was a nice turnout at the August Social Club Event...but next time, please sign up if you think you'll be coming. We don't want to turn anyone away but if you've ever thrown a party, you know how important it is to know how much food to bring! • Travis is getting ready to re-do the Upper Mailbox Area to make it more accessible, something a few of you have suggested. Feel free to give Judi or Travis any of your ideas to improve your community. • There seems to be a lawn decoration thief on the loose. Not very neighborly! If you see anything suspicious, please inform Management (during working hours) or the Police (during other times). Where's Your Income Cert? As I type this--on Aug. 9--we've received 119 Annual Income Certification Forms. That leaves 50 holdouts. I know I don't have to remind you that every dollar Copacabana saves in property taxes is used for capital improvements, maintenance and other items that benefit your community, and that these are much better uses of your rent monies than sending those dollars to the Tax Assessor. I could also remind you Judi will keep bugging you until you return the form. If you moved into Copa in the past 7 years, you promised--in writing--to return this Form every year as a condition of your residency. So won't you please complete this simple task--take a moment, answer a few questions and return the form? If you misplaced yours, you can get another form from the Office. Have a Great Labor Day! |
