Rancho del Sol is a 110-space all-age Community in Yucaipa, San Bernardino County.

The park visitor is welcomed by our retro-design community sign that fronts the pool and recreation center. Other buildings include a laundry facility, four apartment units and a detached residence.

We purchased Rancho del Sol in May 2001 with the help of the Yucaipa Redevelopment Agency. Yucaipa allowed us to sell low interest tax-exempt bonds and provided other assistance. This enabled us to bring our program to Rancho del Sol as follows:

  We will follow Yucaipa’s rent control ordinance, even if rent control is repealed by a later City Council or Court. This is rent control that can’t be taken away!
  
  
• Several hundred thousand dollars will be spent over the next few years to address longstanding deferred maintenance problems. The first major project will be the replacement of the electrical system, with upgrades to the other utility systems, recreation center and streets to follow. We expect to make these improvements without passing the costs on to our homeowners.
  
  
• Additional funds are set aside each year for long-term capital improvements to bring the park back to its former glory.
  
  
• All funds remaining after paying the bills and our asset management fee remain in the park for improvements, programs and other items suggested in consultation with the residents.
  
  
• Through homeowner meetings, our monthly magazine and other input, residents have a greater voice in how their community is operated
