Leisure Park is a charming 182-space all-age Community in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County.

Conveniently located—onramps to Highways 12 and 101 are within a mile, Downtown Santa Rosa is about 4 miles away—Leisure Park is a high quality, affordable Sonoma County housing choice.

Spread over a generous 25 acres, Leisure has good-sized lots, wide streets and plenty of elbow room.  Leisure’s large Recreation Center includes a large assembly hall, kitchen, game and craft rooms, billiards and a fitness center.  Other amenities include a pool, laundry room and, of course, a prime Sonoma County location.

Millennium acquired Leisure Park in November, 2007 with the help of the City of Santa Rosa.  The City made a loan of $200,000 from its housing fund and allowed us to sell low interest tax-exempt bonds.  This enabled us to bring the Millennium program to Leisure Park, as follows:

• We stopped the prior owner’s attempt to force Leisure to “go condo,” which would have phased out rent control protections and made Leisure unaffordable for many households.

• We will follow Santa Rosa’s rent control ordinance, even if rent control is repealed by a later City Council, Court Decision or voter initiative.  This is rent control that can’t be taken away!

• $600,000 was set aside to address longstanding deferred maintenance problems. 

• Additional funds are set aside each year for long-term capital improvements, so that Leisure can continue to be well-maintained.

• All funds remaining after paying the bills and Millennium’s asset management fee remain in the park for homeowner activities, rental assistance, additional improvements and other items suggested in consultation with the Homeowners’ Association.

• Our residents have more input into how their community is operated than would be the case with a for-profit owner.  Millennium and park management meet regularly with the Homeowners’ Board to determine park policies, set budget priorities and capital improvement needs.
  
  
• Our staff is trained to be problem solvers, with support from Millennium to address our homeowners’ needs.
